Edgard Carter was born in Santiago in 1976 and is an Agricultural Engineer from the Catholic University of Chile, where he received his degree in Enology.

He has participated in many crushes in Chile and abroad. He began his professional experience at Viña Concha y Toro’s Puente Alto winery, before traveling to the U.S., where he worked for Jackson Family Farms at the Stone Street Winery, in the Sonoma Valley and Franciscan Oakville Estate in the Napa Valley.

In 2003 his interest in Australian wines led him to Turkey Flat, a small and successful winery in the Barossa Valley, where he also took advantage of the opportunity for various technical visits to other regions. He returned to Chile later that year and soon after began working at Viña Errázuriz, where he first trained the winemaking team at

El Descanso in Curicó and later transferred to the Valle de Aconcagua.

His most recent experience in the United States was the 2006 harvest at Benziger Family Winery (Sonoma Valley), which is widely recognized for its biodynamic winemaking.

Edgard is a sports enthusiast and likes to ski, surf, and play football (soccer). He has broad tastes in music and plays both piano and saxophone.
